Thai bodywork is a form of massage and martial art often performed on a padded mat on the ground. The client is fully clothed in loose, warm clothing that allows the bodyworker to move the client around freely on the mat. The practitioner uses deep compression, stretching, rocking, tapping, and many other techniques to relax and realign the fascial tissue layer of the body. Thai bodywork is often associated with structural massage styles such as sports and deep tissue, but is extremely relaxing and meditative, making it accessible to all. AB Thai Bodywork honors Northern Style Thai traditions that use a slow, gentle approach to Thai healing arts. Anna began studying Thai bodywork with Jill Burynski and Living Sabai in 2015, traveling with them to Thailand in January/February of 2023. Anna was mentored by Elizabeth Kriz of Carolina Thai Healing Arts in Charlotte, NC beginning in 2019. In Thailand, Anna studied at International Training for Massage School (ITM) in Chiang Mai, Omsala in Chiang Mai, and Boonthumme Thai Massage School (Hang Dong District Chiang Mai) with recently passed Ajhan Pichet and his son Master Teacher Aon.
